There were a total of nine performers and the sound, stage and lighting staff were quick on stage during performance transition from one band to the next. Great first concert experience. This is hardly a amphitheatre and only a temporary structure erected every Summer that you'd swear was put up for a one-time high school graduation event. The stage was too high with poorly designed sight lines and low-end audio.

Having seen Brian Wilson at two other locations, it was obvious that the entire band was in misery on that hot stage on a August night. Side sections are mostly blocked with only a partial view of the stage. The rear bleachers may be the next best seating but they are far from the stage. It's a budget sub-par venue. Worth two stars at best. Thunder Valley does a stunning job at traffic and parking using the CHP. Perfection for the additional people that will show or attend a concert. Flow is exceptional and just zero hassles or delays.

There are food trucks and portable bars everywhere drinks outside are twice the price as inside the casino and ample portable restrooms that appear to be from outside vendors. Security at the venue is professional and competent and never intrusive. Two negatives are security did nothing to keep people in their seats. People mostly stood and were drinking and dancing and blocking all the other rows. In other words, if you are attending to see your favorite artist and are looking for quality sound, sight lines and a classy concert venue, this is not the place.

The hot asphalt on a degree day only radiates additional heat remember, this venue is in the parking lot of a Indian Casino. In fairness, I'd place it on par with a venue at a county or state fair.

Would I go again? I doubt Brian Wilson will ever attend again either. She couldn't pass up a once in a life-time opportunity to see and hear the legendary singer and actress. We were blessed to get premier seating for this amazing event!!!

This outdoor venue consists of seat capacity. Floor seats are picnic folding type chairs and are all reserved. The bleachers in the rear of the venue are open seating. Once inside you will find food trucks , outdoor bars, snacks, and also "bling-bling" hats. Ones that light up in the dark. Two huge screens on either side of the stage are for those sitting in the bleachers. The show started right on time 8pm.

Diana Ross daughter Rhonda Ross opened the show off with her amazing vocals, singing some of her new songs. Seating was a little cramped , and leaving the venue was a nightmare. But overall my wife and I had a wonderful time.

Calling this an amphitheater is ridiculous. It's nothing more than loud music on hot asphalt. The sound quality is mediocre and the seats are cramped and uncomfortable. That is, if you can find your seats - they're not labeled, leaving you to wander along your row while counting and hoping you get it right. Then again, a lot of people weren't in their seats. We discovered that Placer County has a sizable collection of fiftysomething drunken meatheads who spent the entire show Buddy Guy standing in front of us, dancing badly and unrhythmically pumping their fists.

It was our first-ever visit to Thunder Valley. We were startled to find it so busy. It appears the property earns plenty of money and has plenty of room. Why not do concerts right with a dedicated indoor venue? My husband brought me here to see Terry Fator a ventriloquist and he was really expecting the show to be INSIDE so he was surprised to find him performing outside. Hubby surprised me with tickets and we were on the floor on fold up vinyl padded seats, not in bleachers however with the heat and being pretty much on asphalt in a parking lot and so far from the stage you couldn't even tell he was a ventriloquist.

I couldn't see him at all I was watching the tv screens which was small and far away as well so for this type of show it was not a hit at all! Hubby said it was totally not worth what he paid to be seating in folding chairs and so far away. This type of show is better in a more intimate theater or at least have a HUGE tv screen with clear quality to see what's happening!!!

Very disappointed thank goodness it wasn't as hot as it could have been but my shorts were still soaked with sweat on vinyl seats so glad I didn't dress up and told hubby to wear shorts! This was one of the cooler evenings but considering the seating arrangements and cost I would never come here again to see anything out here in this heat on these chairs! You'd really be better off in the open in your car and listen from outside for free! This was our first time to this venue.

I know being a local Sacramentan what was I waiting for? I'm not a huge fan of outdoor concerts because of Sacramento blistering heat waves. Well yesterday we literally lucked out; I think it was only 85 degrees!

We were lucky though the air didn't bother us too badly due to Butte and Valley fires. They were making for strange looking smoky gray skies plus the lingering tropical storm coming from the south.

We had awesome premium seats in the third row right smack in the middle. If you know me I loved this kind of music way back in the day. In fact I loved the female soul singers even more so. I really was looking forward to seeing 58 year old Stephanie Mills singing so beautifully last night plus shaking her body down to the ground!

It was my first time seeing all three bands so I really enjoyed myself plus for some reason we lucked out a couple seats were empty next to me that gave me room to get up and dance around me. In fact after hitting the restroom at the TV casino between the last change over of bands my hubby ran into a former coworker.

His baby was so adorable and precious! My husband was saying it was fate that happened because he was so happy to run into him!

Plus get an update on his life. When we got back another couple had left so there was even more room like four empty chairs!!! One seat was up due to what I think drinks were spilled while we were gone because the seat was damp.

The floor around me was wet as well as empty cups strewn all over the floor. Despite all that it was so convenient attending the concert here because you have TV casino right there with all the restaurants, entertainment and gambling plus parking is right out the door!

If you want you can spend the night there too although we chose not to. No matter what we did enjoy ourselves and probably will be back. Maybe next time we won't stay until the very end because of the traffic jam in the parking lot. But we will see how it goes next time! Get Down on it! The songs from KATG keep playing in my head!

Can you tell I had a blast on our 28th wedding anniversary??? Echoing other reviewers - sitting on chairs on HOT asphalt following one of the hottest days of the year was not pleasant. Agreeing with the comments that you're shown what row your seat is in, but chair numbers are totally faded. We were astounded at the terrible camera work.

It was probably the worst we've seen at a concert be warned if you're sitting further back! But perhaps that's all intentional, hoping that more people will wait out the traffic inside the casino? The venue itself is big and pretty cool. Only downside is that you had all the outside noise which sometimes is a distraction. The bleachers are not comfortable at all. Spend the extra money and get assigned seating. Seen fluffy tonight good show he was awesome The BS just to see fluffy Being outdoors, it was cold and windy that night.

There were food trucks and beer available for purchase. I came here to see Jo Koy and Anjelah Johnson. We purchased general admission tickets, which means bleacher seats. It was not the most comfortable, so I suggest bringing a seat cushion. Closer seating on the lot were fold out chairs. The comedians looked small from where we were sitting, but there are two screens on either side of the stage. The venue is not the best, but it works!

Their Slot machines pay out is not high. They pay out very less. Don't try their slot machines. This casino is no good for beginners at all. Went here yesterday to see Keith Sweat. Boy was this place hot and toasty even when it hit night time I was still burning up.

It did have several stands to get refreshments and snacks and lines weren't that long. Prices were very reasonable! The sitting chairs were quite padded and was pretty comfortable.

When the artists performed the speaker's were so loud that it ended being more annoying than anything. They needed a serious sound check! I caught my self trying to unplug my ears and even seen people walking around with earplugs. The crowd seemed ratchet but didn't see any people there you needed to worry about.

Getting out is like any other stadium where you have to wait forever and a day to get out but it is better then most as they use the CHP to control traffic. Again, it wasn't too bad, just was disappointed that they called it an amphitheater when it was not one by any means. NOT an Amphitheater by any means!!

I did like the sound, overall, but the seating was horrible. See many other reviews here for the seating issues. I was there recently for Brian Wilson and Air Supply. They can do better for sure,. My main complaint is all the cigarette smoke, even tho' there are supposed areas you can't smoke, the stench was pervasive. California Micro-Brew for a selection of beer, and the beers they had were way overpriced. Such horrible seating, if you have any type of disability or back issue.

They need to be modernized, or torn down. I went to my second, and likely my last concert here, on September 1, to see Chicago. It was an unusually hot day. Even my son's football game was cancelled due to the heat. I messaged ahead of time to the venue to see if they would make any exceptions to allow guests to bring in sealed water bottles - I received a response, rather promptly referring me to the guidelines that, "Our policy states "Sealed water bottles or non-alcoholic beverages purchased at the casino are permissible.

We arrived to a full parking area, even though we were early. CHP was directing traffic and we were able to park in the parking garage and high tail it through the casino and back out into the heat. The lines moved swiftly. My printed ticket somehow did not scan correctly, but just as we were about to pull the ticket up on the phone the lady helping us through the gate said we were good to go.

Next stop, baggage claim - the gruff looking, grumpy old man shuffled through my purse luckily he didn't find the hidden goods and we were directed to a "guest" table. Each guest was given their choice of either a cooling towel or a tiny fan that plugged into your cell phone to generate. We were also given a water bottle, tiny enough to quench Barbie's thirst. I opted for the cooling towel. We found our seats, section 3, isle seats. By this time, it was almost 7: Security kept letting late comers meander through the isles, blocking our view and just providing an overall distraction.

To make matters worse, our chairs were tied together - the man and woman to our immediate right were rather large in size. They kept constantly complaining that they had no room to sit. I was then asked to stand up, by security so that our chairs could be separated and then my chair was awkwardly shoved out into the isle! If the other guests were uncomfortable, I thought that arrangements for them could have been made, rather than putting me right in the middle of late comers and staggering drunks.

From what I could see of the show, it was fantastic, but that does not give much kudos to the venue - I have never seen a bad show from Chicago. Would I see another show here again? Only if I was really intrigued by the artist and I checked the weather first. When they first put this here at TVC, I thought how tacky and cheap can you be! It can fit a lot of people. It is nice to sit outside on nice summer evening.

What is nice vs. Most seats are assigned but you can get the cheap seats in the back bleachers under general admission where it is first come first served. The nice part about the bleachers is that the levels are elevated so you never have to worry about seeing over someones head vs. Downside is that they are very uncomfortable after awhile so bring a cushion.

Because the floor seats are left outside, the numbers on them are faded so it is sometimes hard to figure out which is yours. They do have staff to guide you but still they should update the numbering. Make reservations if you can. Also go the restrooms deeper into the casino, not near the front or you will be waiting forever.

There are several restrooms throughout the casino. This is my first time going to a concert at the Thunder Valley Amphitheater and was really excited when, I found out v Summer Jam would be here. We go though security if that's what you want to call it. I was really surprised there were really no safety measures really enforced meaning no Metal detectors, wands nothing all they cared about is concert goers not bringing in there own liquor which they still failed there I got my ticket scanned and got a nice little swag back Thunder Valley gave to patrons who had reserved seating.

As I was walking in they had vendor me selling Food, snow cones, beer and wine, Metro Pcs was also there trying to get people to sign up for there service. There were also vendors if you wanted shirts made as well as souvenirs. When I was heading to look for my seat don't bother asking where to find your seat as they will only tell you to look a what row and seat number. The only problem with that is the numbers on the seats were faded so people just sat where ever and no one made a big deal of it which worked.

It's was way too damn hot to play a game of where's Waldo with seats. The Artist were great except All 4 One were having sound issues with there Microphones and the sound was not to not there fault though I'm rating it 3 stars for now because it's one thing to smoke weed while getting your dance on its a whole other thing when you're smoking your damn cigarettes where get your ass up and smoke your Clover cancer stick elsewhere ugh!! People are so damn inconsiderate and the seats are a tad bit too close together.

I really wanted to like Thunder Valley Amphitheater however, I have mixed feelings about it. I came here for the v Summer Jam concert featuring.

My first issue is when the wifey and I went through security I was shocked at the fact no metal detectors nothing, anyone could waltz in with weapons. My second issue is when you get you bags checked , I truly believe they hire anybody to to check bags yes some of the staff are very questionable and one even tried to open my wife's wallet that is completely out of line.

We walk around for a bit they had many different vendors there. There were people even walking around selling light up ear and glow sticks. Hell you even had Metro Pcs there trying to push there products and services. We went looking for our seats and asked a young man to show us where our seats were and he was of no help just showed us the section and the row and told us the seats were numbered we found our row however the numbers on the seats were not visible and completely faded away.

I once the concert began everything was great there were a couple of sound system problem when All 4 One came out: What irked me the most is when Naughty by Nature came out and was like this is Cali smoke you weed and some of the concert goers pulled out there cigarette's like it was nothing.

I smoke cigs but I take it far away from others as that is common sense and being that it was degrees it makes it harder to breath. Overall I had a great time, yes even with the minor issues the artist made of for it. Would I come back? Will I come back for another summer concert? The jury is still out on that. I'd definitely rock out here during the Spring and winter months though. Footloose" and "Takin' it to the Streets" The venue of the two Super Stars singing together were Amazing!!!

The Amphitheater is huge and very nice. The sound system is not bad for an outdoor venue. The parking lot is easy access to the amphitheater, food, drinks, clean bathrooms and the staff are all very helpful, organized, and polite. Great place to watch a concert on a beautiful summer evening. Just to get into the parking garage was a mess. They had a lot of areas blocked off so we had no choice but to park at the very top.

When we finally reached the amphitheater the staff handed us fans to keep cool. Luckily, we got the floor seats so it was closer to the stage. It felt like the casino was trying to get as many people in there as possible. The seats were so close that every time someone behind you got up, they ended up bumping into. By the time to show was over we were a hot sticky mess and my arm was stuck on the arm of my friend. They did have about two fans that had a mist, which didn't help since people stood in front of them.

For Jo Koy they gave him a small fan to keep cool. He ended up stripping down just to stay cool. The show itself was great until the entertainment crew couldn't get it together. The screens kept freezing so for those sitting on the bleachers they couldn't see Jo. It took them awhile to get the screens to start working again. It was an experience. I'm glad that I got to see him perform but I won't be coming back until they get a better system to keep people cool.

Since they've had the 80's Rewind Fest held here every year at the Thunder Valley amphitheater but this year was my first time to see these 80's artists! What a great line-up! I purchased our tickets in April and waited five months for this concert.

I've always loved the 80's decade. It was the best era with the best songs. This year's concert brought the following 80's bands: I had a chance to see them again at Boomtown Reno in April 8- Wang Chung - so fun watching on stage! As with all the concerts there is always police presence to guide the traffic on Athens Ave. There were plenty of security staff inside as well. The staff at the entrance gate was speedy and organized in getting people inside the amphitheater quickly.

There were lots of pop-up tents on the side where food and beverages alcohol and non-alcohol were sold. There were three different entrance gates to enter depending on the section of your ticket s.

The only thing that was confusing was the seat number Had to ask security if we had the correct seats. We had Section 1, Row E seating. The amphitheater is nice and huge! Gotta have room for all their band instruments, you know There were a total of nine performers and the sound, stage and lighting staff were quick on stage during performance transition from one band to the next.

Great first concert experience. This is hardly a amphitheatre and only a temporary structure erected every Summer that you'd swear was put up for a one-time high school graduation event.

We use the latest and greatest technology available to provide the best possible web experience.
